Friends of the Prescott Public Library

About

Make a Difference

Each year the library staff provides the Board of the Friends with a funding request. These funds are used to cover costs of programs, supplies, and other support, but not for staff salaries and benefits; those costs remain the responsibility of the City. Through book sale and fundraising efforts, Friends of the Prescott Public Library raise money to serve you better! To make a donation to Friends, checks can be mailed or dropped off at the Prescott Public Library:

215 E. Goodwin Street, Prescott, AZ 86303.

Book sale income, donations, and other contributions to the Friends, fund a variety of projects, including:

  • Children’s reading programs and special events.
  • Chamber music concerts.
  • Author talks and book signings.
  • Special collections of books and DVDs.
  • Purchase of new furnishings and library shelving.
  • Story Walk at Granite Creek Park.
  • Library of Things: Hiking kits, Binoculars, Telescopes, Ukulele’s, and garden seeds to name a few.
  • Mobile phone charging stations inside the library.
  • And many more – the Library Lion and Library Lizard sculptures, a passive water catchment system, the Beyond Words mural, Live Homework Help, and Spotlight on the Stars to name a few.

Friends also accept and administer bequests of funds given to benefit the library.
Monetary donations, donations of books and magazines, and bequests turn into countless library services and Friends of the Prescott Public Library funded programs.
